HIGHLIGHTS

BOYS Teams: Laramie pulled away with the final two runners to edge defending champ Rock Springs in 4A, 44-48, for its first title. Star Valley scored five in the top 17 to roll in 3A for the first time with 57, ahead of Jackson Hole’s 86 and reversing last year’s defeat. In 2A, Wyoming IndianHS won its sixth straight, scoring the first three and romping with 20 points, with Moorcroft second at 58.

BOYS Indiv.: All three winners were juniors. Rock Springs’ defending champ Rick Faure, a 1:51 800 runner, was fastest of the day with his 16:33.78 4A victory, topping the 16:42.79 of Laramie’sJonah Henry. Cody’s Devyn Brotherton won 3A in 17:13.82, moving up from 16th last year, andWilson Clifford (fourth last year) paced Wyoming Indian’s 1-2-3 sweep with 17:43.37.

GIRLS Teams: Campbell County won every spot and scored 46 to win 4A over Laramie’s 62.Star Valley switched finishes from 2011 by pulling away from Cody on the fifth runner, prevailing for the first time in 3A with 39 to Cody’s 47. And in 2A, Pine Bluffs-Burns started 2-3-4 and dominated for their third straight win with 16 to Wright’s 62.

GIRLS Indiv.: In 3A, Star Valley sr Hailey Ricks paced her team’s first title with a meet-best 19:42.71. It was her third title in a row (the first was in 4A). Similarly in 4A, Campbell County juniorAbby Phillips paced her team’s win with her individual title at 19:55.57. Phillips moved up from second last year, while defending champ Olivia Thompson was 12th. In 2A, Wright sr Mikayla Hudgins topped champion Pine Bluffs-Burns’ lead trio with her 21:15.54 win, her second straight.
